lack of sleep

A co-worker and I were talking about the effects of sleep deprivation and how husbands don't get that mom's don't get enough sleep (and how they don't understand that while our job is not as "important" as theirs, or whatever it's hard and we can't just call in sick) and I saw this on Wikipedia this evening:

According to a 2000 study published in the British Medical Journal, researchers in Australia and New Zealand reported that sleep deprivation can have some of the same hazardous effects as being drunk.[29] People who drove after being awake for 17–19 hours performed worse than those with a blood alcohol level of .05 percent, which is the legal limit for drunk driving in most western European countries and Australia. Another study suggested that performance begins to degrade after 16 hours awake, and 21 hours awake was equivalent to a blood alcohol content of .08 percent, which is the blood alcohol limit for drunk driving in Canada, the U.S., and the U.K.[

That explains it! On days I work I usually am up for 18-20 hours, especially if I open!! SHESH!

anyho, take care of yourself, I hope you get enough sleep!

Just wonderin' --- have you been checking out my post times? Many of them are just after midnight! (I do my best thinking after 10 PM.) I don't feel wasted at my bedtime, but oh, mornings are bad! *wink* ---"Love"

Ahhhh....sleep depirvation;) I had a bit of that this trip. With everyone I was visiting on different schedules, I went some days awake for 20 or so hours. There was one stint that I only had 2 hours sleep in 36. My brain was fried and I felt like someone had hit me in the eye sockets!!
Happy Quilting!!
