frosting?

When I was pregnant with R, A teased me about eating frosting on saltines when I ran out of Graham crackers, and the fact that I thought it was a GREAT treat! (I still do, but don't indulge) The saltiness with the sweet, oh yum. Today I saw a tub of frosting sitting on the counter, I had it in the fridge from when I baked a cake for one of A's co-workers going away party. So before he left for work I said "did you have frosting last night?" "yeah" "on what?" "Toast....(me giving him a funny look)...with some butter." WHAT!!!! I don't have anything to even come back and respond to that with!

moving forward

I had a great meeting with my new manager today. It was a spur of the moment touch base meeting, and I was glad I stayed to have it. While I was nervous about a new manager coming in, mostly because my boss has known me the whole time I have been with the company, and has seen me go through so much in the two years I have been there. The new manager said she thought I ran my shifts very well and that I am doing a good job. We talked about what I thought was good, and in need of improvements in the store, and for myself. I found out the store in the town I was hoping to move to is coming along well!

I sorted through R's clothes yesterday, my day off. I turned the living room into a disaster matching outfits so that they are together. A used to dress her in the most outrageous things, so I decided to hang outfits up on a hanger, the pants on with a clothespin and the shirts over top. Now we just have to grab a hanger and she's good to go. She doesn't have a dresser still, but this way we don't need one for now. I love how her new room is set up. Her crib is not up against a wall, and it's such an open room. I want to save up some money and decorate it all out for her. She's only had hodge podge since we never planned on staying at our first place for long, and our second...I had plans for it, but I was worried about damaging the walls and the windows. This place is so old and past tenants have added their personal touches, I am not too worried about it. Plus we have storage space for the things that were here when we moved in like the curtains and blinds so when we move out, we can put the old ones back if they want.

finally connected

after almost a year without a computer, we have one again. Thanks mostly to my parents and their need for pics of their granddaughter. Also I have been humming and hawing over the idea of going back to school, but had no real way to check out programs. I am debating a masters in education, or in school psychology. My love of learning is beginning to drive me towards working in a school setting, but I haven't figured out how exactly yet.

A, R and I moved again this past December, I am so tired of moving. The only good thing about it is we get to go through our stuff and eliminate a lot of things we keep hanging onto. Right now, we are at a point where we need more things like book cases, and new dressers so the place is a mess with piles of things to put away without a home that R likes to "sort" for me. Hopefully in the next week or two I will have more than one day off and can take some serious time to clean. I am embarrassed to have company over, but I want to show off our new place.

R is growing so fast. About a week ago she and I were at Target getting thank you cards, and potty chairs were on clearance. I had to get one ($9.49 for a potty chair!) and we made a big deal about it, we went to lunch after we bought it and when we got home, she sat on it. She has only gone in it three times now, but she loves to sit on it with a book. We are not pushing potty training yet, but if she's curious or wants to sit on her potty chair, I will not stop her!
